Why the church seeks partners

The church holds land, schools, a theological seminary and hospitals in trust for its mission: preaching the Gospel, teaching, healing and serving communities across Tanzania. It seeks partners who will help these serve more people, and pay their own way, for generations.

How a partnership can be arranged

Different projects call for different arrangements. These are the usual ones.

Joint venture
The church and a partner share a project: its capital, its work and what it earns, by agreement.
Long lease
The church provides the land; the partner builds and runs an approved project for an agreed number of years.
Build, operate, transfer
The partner builds and runs a facility for a set period, then hands it to the church.
Management partnership
The church keeps ownership; an experienced operator runs the institution to agreed standards.
Project finance
A single project is financed by a loan, a share, or a mixture of the two.
Impact investment
The partner looks for a fair return and for good done that can be measured.

How the church looks after what it holds

The church is committed to responsible and sustainable investment. Before any major project begins, it works with professional advisers and the prospective partner to carry out:

  • Land and title verification
  • Asset valuation
  • Market feasibility analysis
  • Technical feasibility assessment
  • Environmental and social assessment
  • Financial modelling
  • Legal and regulatory due diligence
  • Risk assessment
  • Governance and management framework
  • Investment agreement development
