Overview

The Evangelism and Mission Ministry is the heartbeat of the Baptists' Church of Tanzania. Since the arrival of Baptist missionaries in 1956, evangelism has remained the Church's primary calling and the foundation upon which every ministry is built. Guided by the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), the ministry exists to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, make disciples, establish vibrant local churches, and transform communities through holistic mission.

The Baptists' Church of Tanzania believes that the Gospel addresses both the spiritual and practical needs of humanity. Consequently, our mission integrates evangelism with discipleship, leadership development, education, healthcare, social transformation, and sustainable community development.

Today, through seven administrative zones, regional church networks, and more than 1500 local churches, the Evangelism and Mission Ministry serves urban centres, rural villages, pastoral communities, fishing communities, mining settlements, universities, schools, refugee communities, and border regions throughout Tanzania.

Programmes

Church Planting

Healthy local churches as centres for evangelism, discipleship, leadership development and community transformation.

Church planting is the primary strategy through which the Baptists' Church of Tanzania expands the Kingdom of God. The Church identifies unreached communities, rapidly growing urban settlements, universities, industrial centres, and remote rural areas where new congregations are needed.

Mission Outreach

Extending the Gospel beyond established churches into communities with limited access to Christian ministry.

Mission Outreach combines evangelism with practical demonstrations of Christ's love through education, healthcare, humanitarian assistance, leadership development, and community empowerment.

Crusades

Organized evangelistic events with structured follow-up into nearby Baptist churches.

Crusades proclaim the Gospel to large audiences while encouraging repentance, salvation, healing, discipleship, and church integration. Every crusade is followed by structured discipleship and integration into nearby Baptist churches.

Community Evangelism

Transforming communities by integrating biblical teaching with practical solutions to everyday challenges.
